Silchar : Mobile network problem on several National Highway (NH) stretches is becoming a major issue for travellers. Many areas have telecom black spots where people are unable to make calls or use internet services.
Due to poor network connectivity, commuters face difficulties during emergencies, vehicle breakdowns and accidents. In some places, people cannot even contact family members or emergency services.
Officials have said that many highway routes across the country still suffer from weak mobile coverage. Efforts are being made to improve telecom services in these areas.
People travelling through remote highway regions have demanded better network facilities as communication has become an important part of road travel today. The issue is expected to be addressed by telecom authorities in the coming months.
