Affirms education minister Dr Pegu in Bongaigaon; asks officials to work on mission mode

“Soon there will be no ‘zero schools’ teacher in Assam. Under Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the education department will make this policy the most urgent issue and all officers should work to achieve it”.This was echoed by the state education minister Dr, Ranoj Pegu at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Thursday.

While speaking at the zonal conference of officers of the lower Assam education zone at Bongaigaon, Dr. Pegu said “The ‘zero’ teacher schools will be amalgamated and merged with the nearest school where there is the availability of sufficient teachers. Rationalisation of teachers, issue of kuchha building of schools, etc. will also be addressed as soon as possible”.

 “The issue of infrastructure problems in schools will be eliminated in the next coming two years and for that, the minister urged all the officers to work in mission mode” mentioned Dr. Pegu.

The minister also asked the officers to report about the vacancy of teachers’ posts in detail so that the government can process to appoint new teachers to fill up those vacancies as and when reported, as a vacancy is a hindrance to quality education.

“Besides, the time of superannuation of teachers should also be reported by the officers at an early stage so that government can take the steps required for that, added the minister. Dr. Pegu added.

Minister Dr. Pegu further emphasised the enrolment process and better performance of the schools, as more enrolment is helpful in imparting quality education and academic management.

“Especially, for classes IX and X, digital classes will be arranged,” the minister said.

Earlier, speaking at the event, DC Bongaigaon, Nabadeep Pathak gave the inaugural speech quoting the best performing students’ results.

The meeting was also attended by  Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury, Secretary of Secondary Education, Dr. Bijoya Choudhury, Secretary of Elementary Education, Mamata Choudhury, Director of Secondary Education, Suranjana Senapati, Director of Elementary Education, Shyamal Kshetra Gogoi, ADC (Edu), Bongaigaon, IS, DIs, DEEOs, BEEOs of Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Barpeta, Goalpara, South Salmara, and Bajali district.
