Tinsukia Gears Up for Vote Counting on May 4 with Tight Security Measures

Tinsukia: With results of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections set to be declared on May 4, the Tinsukia district administration has completed all preparations to ensure a smooth, transparent, and secure counting process.

The counting will begin at 8:00 AM under strict monitoring, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan said during a press briefing on Friday.

As per guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, six counting observers have been deployed across the district to oversee the process.

Officials said two counting centres have been set up to manage the exercise in an organised manner. Adequate security arrangements and logistical measures are in place to prevent any disruption during the counting.
