Two Held With Suspected Heroin in Hailakandi’s Lala Area

Hailakandi: In a crackdown against drug trafficking, a team from Assam Police under Lala Police Station apprehended two persons and recovered suspected heroin from their possession in Hailakandi district.

The accused have been identified as Habizur Rahman (19), son of Manik Uddin Laskar, and Dilwar Hussain Laskar (30), son of Astor Ali Laskar. Both are residents of Rajyeswarpur Part-7 in Hailakandi district.

According to police sources, the operation was carried out based on reliable information. During the search, police recovered around 10 grams of suspected heroin, which had allegedly been concealed beneath the seat storage compartment of the scooty the duo was riding at the time of interception.

The seized contraband was taken into custody and further legal procedures have been initiated. Police are continuing the investigation to ascertain possible links to a wider drug network.
