Assam: Medical Representatives In Cachar Asked Not To Visit Doctors

Administration advises self-isolation and swab test

In view of the spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, the Cachar district administration has directed the commercial medical representatives to put their activities on hold to arrest the further spread of the virus. 

In an order issued to this effect here on Thursday, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Health, Sumit Sattawan stated that the decision to suspend the activities of commercial medical representatives have been taken to prevent the further spread of the disease. “The increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in Cachar district has become a serious concern for public health and that is why several measures need to be taken to prevent the further spread of COVID-19,” stated Sattawan in the order. 

The order directed the medical representatives not to visit doctors and their respective offices for a period of 14 days w.e.f. Thursday. It also asked them to isolate themselves at home and to undergo swab tests within July 27.
