Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetso has notified the following traffic regulations for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur Town and NH-29 till Chumukedima town with effect from 5^th October 2020 till 31^st October 2020.

Odd number day:

On every Monday, Wednesday and Friday only vehicle with registration number ending with odd numbers (1,3,5,7&9) will be allowed to ply.

Even number day:

On every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (2,4,6,8 & 0) will be allowed to ply.

The restriction will not be enforced on Sundays.

1. The category under essential services as notified earlier will be exempted. Further Government servants on bonafide government duties and vehicles involved in providing essential services involved in COVID-19 related duties will also be exempted from the purview of the restrictions on the production of relevant documents and valid ID proof. Two-wheelers shall also be exempted from these traffic restrictions.
2. All heavy vehicles except those engaged in four-lane construction work with a valid permit will be restricted from plying within the town area and highway area from 09hrs to 15 hrs. Violation of the aforementioned order will be penalized U/S 177 & 179 of the MV Act 1988. 

Commissioner also appealed all citizens for cooperation in the interest of public safety.
