RPF team comprising personnel from Crime Investigation Branch and Task Force of Tinsukia Division conducted a joint surprise check on 21 & 22 July During the check, the team seized 6 bundles of parcel items which arrived along with other parcel items by 05956 (Brahmaputra Mail) from Delhi at New Tinsukia Railway station. Later it was detected that all the bundles are filled with chewing Tobacco packets.

In this regard seizure list was prepared and all the six bundles (29 kg each) containing tobacco worth approximate cost of Rs. 1, 74,000/- were handed over to GRP for further enquiry. Customs department was also informed by RPF to verify the GST payment of all parcel items
