The aim behind organizing the run is to create awareness among the people of Assam regarding open defecation, cleanliness and hygiene, waste segregation, and bringing about a behavioural change and how these changes have become important in our daily lives to reduce the spread of COVID-19

To create awareness about cleanliness, TIPKAI, a Guwahati based NGO organized a quarter Marathon today at Haflong.

More than 500 people from various age group including girls took part in the run which started from N L Daulagupu Sports Complex and concluded again at DSA.

In this connection a prize giving ceremony was held in presence of BJP District President, Donpainan Thaosen, Liton Chakraborty, I Joishi, MACs and BJP workers. All the winners were awarded cash and certificates.

It is learnt that TIPKAI organizes a quarter Marathon every year in the name and style of “Run for Swachhata 2021”, a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to help fulfil Gandhi’s vision of clean India.

TIPKAI has successfully completed run for Swachhota 2021″ for three consecutive years covering some major cities of Assam, with active support and operation from Government of Assam, Tipkai organizes this quarter marathon every year keeping in view the objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the aim behind organizing the run is to create awareness among the people of Assam regarding open defecation, cleanliness and hygiene, waste segregation, and bringing about a behavioural change and how these changes have become important in our daily lives to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
