The team of 32-member Airforce personnel who are covering a distance of 4500 Kms ultra marathon, reached Air Force Station Bagdogra on 27 October was given a warm welcome by Air Cmde HS Sandhu AOC, 20 Wing along with the station personnel.  

The expedition which was flagged off on 21st September September from Leh reached Bagdogra and air warriors bade adieu with best wishes and glory for the future on 28 October. The team was cheered by air warriors who formed a human chain along the route. In order to motivate the team and to showcase camaraderie and team spirit, 15 air warriors from the Air Force Station ran along with the team for a distance of  six kilometers. 

This expedition is being executed under the banner of “K2K, Kargil to Kohima – Glory Run” in order to pay tribute and remember the brave hearts who made the ultimate sacrifice of their own, promote spirit of adventure amongst air warriors, promote awareness for Pedestrian Safety , Swachh Bharat and Swasth Bharat. The personnel of the Indian Air Force are undertaking an ultra-marathon from Kargil War Memorial, Drass (J&K)  to  Kohima War Cemetery.
