Karbi Anglong | Solangdo completes fifteen year

To mark the occasion a paperback of the chosen editorials of the daily was unveiled

Solangdo, an Assamese vernacular daily published from Diphu observed its fifteen years of unremitting journey through daylong programs organized at Rangsina Sarpo Cultural Hall, Diphu on Thursday. 

To mark the occasion a paperback of the chosen editorials of the daily was unveiled. The assemblage has been done by the editor of Solangdo Borsing Rongphar, the volume has been titled ‘Nirbasita Sampadokiya’. Educationist and Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council D. Uphiang Maslai released the book. 

After releasing the book, Maslai in his address said, “Digital media is very fast and people get information about various issues through social media within a short span of time, but the importance of print media cannot be ignored. The various reports and information printed in newspapers are preserved and only in newspapers one can search for important past records.” 

The meeting was presided over by prominent columnist of Assam Pabitra Bora; Karbi Lammet Amei, Secretary Joysing Tokbi, ex. President of Diphu Press Club Longsing Tokbi, editor of The Arleng Daily T.P Hanse, and senior journalist Sonju Bora attended the observance.
