“Even their own state unit president and legislators have lost faith in their hollow ideals and style of functioning of Indian National Congress; which is completely irrelevant today. These were echoed by M. Asnikumar Singh , State Spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh on the present political development in Manipur after Govindas Konthoujam, MLA who resigned from the post of President Manipur Congress Committee, primary membership of the party as well as from the membership of Manipur Legislative Assembly yesterday.

KRC Times, when enquired regarding the political evolvement taking place with the state elections nearing, Asnikumar further stated that ‘the Congress is a rapidly sinking ship which no one wants to ride on. Now, in the Northeast, we are swiftly moving towards Congress Mukht days. Manipur will be Congress Mukht very soon. The signs are very clear; even one of their longest-serving legislators has now resigned from the post of state unit president as well as primary membership of the party. This is the clearest sign of the INC Manipur unit fading into oblivion.

There is no place for merit in INC, where the only currency is closeness and staying in favour of one overhyped family. Their own blatant ignorance of merit within their structure has now led to a full-blown crisis in many states for ex Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh in 2020 etc. Today, one even feels a pinch of pity for what the INC has become; a party with no leadership desperate to remain relevant by hanging on to past glories.
