Metha disclosed that Nagaland will be hosting the first-ever Asia Music festival summit at Konia

Acoustic Club, Wokha in collaboration with Task Force Music & Arts (TaFMA) held a two-day music festival at Wokha on 23rd & 24th April 2021, with a theme “Doyang Rhythms, Music by the Lake” at Doyang Tourist Resort Area. Advisor to Chief Minister, Nagaland, Abu Metha graced the occasion as the special guest.

Speaking on the launching programme, Abu Metha thanked the Acoustic Club, Wokha and TaFMA for coming together and making the event a reality and expressed with optimism that with the fantastic venue, the music festival has tremendous scope to become a much bigger event in the years to come, with the potential to become one of the premier music festivals in the entire region and the Country. Metha said, “the scope and the potential are there, the location is mind-blowing and we all know, we have a tremendous amount of talent” and urged the Acoustic Club and the young people of Wokha district to ensure that the music festival grows more. He said that Nagaland has tremendous potential in the field of Arts and Music. He added that the State Government with the guidance of TaFMA is taking up various initiatives to ensure that the talent reaches its potential.

Metha disclosed that Nagaland will be hosting the first-ever Asia Music festival summit at Konia. Participants, experts, resource persons, music bands, and renowned musicians will be participating in this global event, where over two dozen countries, not just from Asia but across the continent, will be taking part in the music festival. He added that the best of Naga music will be showcased during the Asia Music festival in Konia for that TaFMA will pick up from the best musicians from Wokha. He challenged the musicians to hard work and use the talent and ability to achieve their dream.

TaFMA, Advisor, Theja Meru thanked the Acoustic Club, Wokha, and the GoN for coming together to make the music festival a reality and hoped to make many more such events across the districts of Nagaland to give the opportunity to the local musicians and artists to make an economic impact in the lives.

15 local artists and bands from Wokha and one guest band took part in the music festival.
