Traveling passengers by BG, particularly at New Haflong face huge inconveniences due to lack of passengers’ amenities like drinking water, coach identification system, etc.

The train communication being the cheapest means of traveling, people opt for this but due to absence of proper facilities rendered by Railway Authority, passengers left to face utter inconvenience.

During the boarding trains at New Haflong passengers face difficulty as there is no Coach Identification System. Passengers had to run hither and thither to board their reserved coaches. Moreover, the stoppage time of important trains is also less, for which passengers face a lot of problems.

As there was no RO system at New Haflong station, passengers were forced to buy drinking water at a high price. The establishment of RO Water system at New Haflong station would have helped the traveling train passengers a lot.

Meanwhile, various organisations of Dima Hasao have been demanding proper passengers’ amenities at New Haflong since NFR has introduced a vista dome tourist special train from Guwahati to New Haflong twice in a week.

The Tourist Special train runs on Wednesday and Saturday and stays on platform No 1 at New Haflong station for at least five hours causing inconvenience to the senior and lady passengers to board other trains on platforms No 2 & 3.
