“Disaster management as the process of preparation and response to the effects of disaster calls for understanding Gita-based Needonomics in a present era”, opined Professor M.M. Goel, Former Vice-Chancellor, Founder of Needonomics School of Thought,  superannuated from Kurukshetra University. He was addressing an online international seminar on “Understanding of Gita-based Needonomics for Disaster Management in Present Era  ” organised by the Department of Economics, Govt. Postgraduate College Dwarahat (Almora). Dr. Upasana Sharma HoD Economics delivered the welcome address and presented a citation on the achievements of Prof. M.M. Goel.

For disaster management, the stakeholders as needo-population must become street SMART and SIMPLE with spiritual input flowing from Gita and Anu-Gita, told Prof. Goel.

All challenges and problems in the present era including natural and human-made disasters call for understanding the Gita-based principle of ‘Needonomics’ with spiritually guided materialism (SGM) strategy for needo-wealth, needo-health and needo-happiness, said Prof.Goel.

We have to address illness in the behaviour of all the stakeholders as consumers, producers, distributors, traders, policymakers, and politicians, told Prof. Goel.

We need faith in the capabilities and capacities of Indian youth based on disciplined needo-lifestyle, told Prof. Goel.

We need real education as proper, productive, and practical (3P)   use of head, heart, and hands (3H), believes the founder of Needonomics School of Thought.

To create demand for goods and services, there is a strong case for adopting the NAW (Need, Affordability, and Worth) approach to international marketing, believes Prof. Goel.
