Silchar: In a rare incident, a juvenile leopard was rescued on Tuesday from within the premises of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), sending shockwaves through the busy hospital area. The wild feline’s unexpected appearance caused panic among patients, staff, and visitors.

However, the situation was quickly brought under control thanks to the prompt and courageous response of the Cachar District Police. Officers swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully captured the animal without any harm to the public or the leopard.

Following the rescue, the leopard was handed over to the Barak Valley Wildlife Division’s rescue team. Officials confirmed that the animal will be rehabilitated and released back into its natural habitat.

The police have been widely praised for their timely intervention and bravery. Wildlife enthusiasts and the general public alike have lauded the operation, calling it a praiseworthy step towards ensuring the peaceful coexistence of humans and wildlife.
