Udharbond: Tension gripped Udarbond’s Panchmail area on Sunday night after a college student was brutally attacked with a pair of scissors.

The victim, identified as Oliullah Barbhuiya, a first-year student of Silchar Presidency College, sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest, back, and other parts of the body. He is undergoing treatment and reported to be in critical condition.

According to the FIR lodged by his father, Abdul Wahid Barbhuiya, two local youths—Borhan Uddin Barbhuiya alias Lakhi and Imad Uddin Barbhuiya—lured Oliullah to a shop. A heated argument broke out, following which the duo allegedly assaulted him with scissors and even attempted to stab him in the neck.

“This was a planned attempt to murder my son. He barely escaped with his life. Both accused are known troublemakers, and I demand their immediate arrest,” the father said.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The incident has sparked outrage and alarm in the area.
