Silchar: A day-long SPARSH Outreach Programme will be held at Sainik Bhawan in Silchar on November 28, with the Controller of Defence Accounts, Guwahati, set to provide on-the-spot assistance to former armed forces personnel. The camp will run from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
The programme will focus on helping ex-servicemen from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with Veer Naris and widows, resolve issues linked to pensions, documentation, and other SPARSH services.
Officials said the initiative will give beneficiaries a chance to interact directly with defence accounts authorities and seek quick resolution of grievances, especially those arising from the transition to digital pension systems.
This outreach effort is part of the government’s wider attempt to make welfare services more accessible for veterans, particularly in areas like the Barak Valley where a sizeable retired defence community resides. Many former personnel continue to face hurdles in navigating the SPARSH platform, and the Silchar camp aims to offer the support they need.
The Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Cachar, has encouraged all eligible beneficiaries to attend the programme and help spread the word within the veteran community. The camp is expected to assist a large number of families who have served in uniform.
