Silchar: The Mini Recruitment Drive at Government ITI Srikona opened on Friday with an energetic turnout and a strong message from District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS. Addressing students as Chief Guest, he urged them to approach every opportunity with discipline, intent and the willingness to grow.
He said the current job landscape rewards people who keep sharpening their skills, stay adaptable and build strong communication and problem-solving habits.

Yadav called recruitment drives like this a gateway for young professionals looking to chart their path. He pointed to the Assam government’s focus on expanding skill development and employment avenues and encouraged candidates to interact confidently with employers, ask the right questions and think carefully about their long-term plans.
What matters, he said, is the mindset of lifelong learning that keeps a person relevant.
Earlier, District Employment Exchange Assistant Director Himangshu Kr. Das addressed the participants and spoke plainly about what the job market demands. Qualifications help a person enter the room, he said, but sustained success comes from discipline, technical competence and consistent effort.
He reminded the candidates that every interview is an opportunity to learn something new and refine their approach.

Das stressed the importance of industry oriented training and practical exposure and asked students to align themselves with modern workplace expectations.
He also outlined the various schemes, training programmes and support offered under the Employment and Craftsmen Training framework, assuring candidates that the Employment Exchange will guide them from registration to placement.
The drive, organised by the District Employment Exchange under the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, drew strong participation.
Seven employers, including local and international companies, offered openings across multiple sectors. About 350 candidates attended, reflecting both interest and growing awareness among youth about structured employment initiatives.
