Dr. M. M. Goel
Palghar : India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047 must go beyond technological advancement and digital expansion to ensure that artificial intelligence (AI), innovation and digital transformation serve human welfare, social inclusion and environmental sustainability, said Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Former Vice-Chancellor ,Propounder, Needonomics School of Thought and superannuated Professor of Kurukshetra University.
Delivering the keynote address at a Multidisciplinary International E-Conference organized by Vidyavardhini’s Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts, Kedarnath Malhotra College of Commerce and E.S. Andrades College of Science, Palghar, in collaboration with Global Foundation. Dr. Vandana Anuj Kedia Convener delivered the welcome speech and introduced Prof Goel to the participants. Principal Dr. Arvind W. Ubale presided over the event. Santosh P Mane, President Global Foundation India, Pune proposed vote of thanks.
Prof. Goel said that technological progress alone cannot guarantee inclusive and sustainable development. “The real question is: Digital growth for what, for whom and at what cost?” he observed.

Prof. Goel emphasized that Needonomics provides a human-centred framework by placing needs before greed, values before volumes and sustainability before excess. AI should become an instrument of productivity, education, healthcare, agriculture, governance and public welfare rather than merely a tool for excessive consumption.
He stressed competence before credentials, lifelong learning, digital inclusion and last-mile connectivity, particularly for rural India, MSMEs, youth, women and economically weaker sections.
Prof Goel called for ethical AI governance, with privacy, transparency, accountability, cybersecurity and human dignity at its core, along with environmentally responsible digital transformation.
Prof. Goel said that Viksit Bharat @2047 should be measured not merely by digital platforms, startups or AI applications, but by quality of life, social inclusion, sustainability and ethical technology.
Needs before Greed, Values before Volumes should guide India’s digital future, concluded Prof Goel.
