Several projects inaugurated

Silchar: Ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, a Victory Sankalp Sabha was held at Labak GP on Wednesday. The programme marked the final event of the day’s schedule, where a large number of local residents took part.

Before the meeting, several development projects were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid to boost infrastructure and community facilities in the area.

A Model Anganwadi Centre at Bilbagan (Ward No. 40), built at a cost of Rs.25 lakh, was inaugurated. A Community-cum-Skill Training Centre at Labak Jagannath, constructed with an outlay of Rs.1.5 crore, was also inaugurated. In addition, a community hall at Bilbagan near the Durga temple, built at a cost of Rs.6 lakh, was opened for public use.

Speaking on the occasion, minister Kaushik Rai said that these projects would help strengthen social infrastructure and create opportunities for skill development among local youths. The initiatives are expected to contribute to the overall development of the area.

A large number of people attended the programme and expressed support and enthusiasm for ongoing development efforts.
