Gogoi stated that the deadlock continues as the Assam Congress leadership is yet to consult Rahul Gandhi on the matter

Guwahati : Akhil Gogoi on Thursday expressed sharp disappointment over the stalled alliance talks with the Indian National Congress, alleging lack of clarity and approval from the party’s central leadership.
Addressing the media after a prolonged four-hour meeting, the Raijor Dal leader said it was “surprising” that the Congress had publicly claimed to offer 13 seats to his party, while internally those seats had not yet been approved by the All India Congress Committee.
Gogoi stated that the deadlock continues as the Assam Congress leadership is yet to consult Rahul Gandhi on the matter.
He also alleged inconsistencies in the proposed seat-sharing arrangement, claiming that even within the 13-seat framework, Congress had asked the Raijor Dal to negotiate on certain constituencies.
The remarks point to growing friction between the two sides, raising uncertainty over a potential opposition alliance ahead of the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.
