Over 50 Join BJP in Lakhipur, Congress Leaders Among New Entrants

Lakhipur: A joining programme was held today at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhavan of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lakhipur Assembly constituency, where more than fifty individuals from the Congress and other parties formally joined the BJP.

The new entrants said they were influenced by the leadership of Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai. They pointed to his organised work style, dedication, and focus on development as key reasons behind their decision to switch sides.

Prominent among those who joined were OBC Congress Assam Pradesh Vice Chairman and Congress ticket aspirant from Lakhipur, Pandit Hemanta Singh; former Congress District Secretary Jai Singh; and Binnakandi Block Development Committee President Prakash Tiwari, along with several others.

The programme was attended by BJP’s nominated candidate and sitting MLA Kaushik Rai, Lakhipur Mandal President Gunjonkar, and BJP leader Bijendra Prasad Singh.
