Arunachal: In a key development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the appointment of Dr Joram Aniya from Arunachal Pradesh as a full-time member of NITI Aayog. The move is being seen as a major moment for representation from the Northeast in top policy bodies.
According to the official notification, Dr Aniya will serve on the same terms and conditions as other full-time members of the institution. His appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge.
Dr Aniya will serve alongside Dr R. Balasubramaniam, who has also been appointed as a full-time member of the policy think tank. The appointment marks a notable step in bringing voices from the Northeast into national decision-making spaces.
