Kolkata: Police have suspended Goutam Das, Officer-in-Charge of Kalighat Police Station, after he posted a photograph on social media posing with a firearm along with the caption “ready for new assignment.”

The post drew attention online and led to disciplinary action by the authorities.

Chameli Mukherjee has been appointed as the new Officer-in-Charge of Kalighat Police Station and took charge on May 2.
