West Bengal: Chandra Nath Rath, personal assistant to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead in the Madhyamgram area of North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, according to reports.

Rath was inside a black Scorpio vehicle when attackers on a motorcycle opened fire, shooting multiple rounds at him. He suffered bullet injuries to the head, chest and abdomen.

Police reached the spot soon after the incident and have launched an investigation. Rath’s body is currently at Mega City Hospital in Madhyamgram. More details are awaited.
