Imphal: In a fresh security scare amid Manipur’s continuing unrest, unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled a grenade at the residence of an Air India cargo manager in Imphal East district early on May 23.
According to police, the incident took place around 1:42 am at the residence of Thokchom Brojen at Bashikhong under the jurisdiction of Irilbung Police Station.
Brojen serves as the manager of Air India Cargo Services at Imphal International Airport.
Police said no immediate reports of casualties were received, while security personnel rushed to the spot after the incident. An investigation has been launched to identify those involved in the attack.
The incident marks the third case linked to airline cargo establishments in Manipur this month, raising fresh concerns over security in the violence-hit state.
The latest attack has further intensified fears amid the continuing unrest and fragile law and order situation in Manipur.
