Silchar: Narcotics worth an estimated Rs 28 crore were seized and three suspected drug traffickers arrested during a joint operation carried out by the Assam Police and the Assam Rifles in Cachar district, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

According to the Chief Minister, the operation was conducted based on specific intelligence inputs. During the raid, security personnel recovered a large quantity of narcotic substances with an estimated market value of Rs 28 crore.
Three suspected drug traffickers were arrested in connection with the seizure. The identities of the accused have not yet been officially disclosed. Chief Minister Sarma lauded the joint efforts of the Assam Police and the Assam Rifles, stating that the successful operation reflects the state’s continued crackdown on the illegal drug trade.
