Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has welcomed the decision of taxi associations in the state to call off their protests following discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar and the State Government.

The Chief Minister thanked Deputy Chief Minister Dhar, the taxi associations, government officials and all other stakeholders for their constructive engagement and cooperation, which helped reach a positive outcome.

The State Government will continue to work with all concerned stakeholders to ensure normal movement, the safety of commuters and a peaceful resolution to issues arising from the recent incidents.Chief Minister Sangma also appealed to all sections of society to maintain peace, exercise restraint and ensure normalcy across the state.
