It has been more than 8 months since the body of a female employee of the hotel heritage Inn at Saskatoon city of Saskatchewan province in Canada was recovered from the ground of the said hotel on October -15, 2024, but investigators are yet to make any breakthrough over the mysterious death.

Neither Saskatoon police service authority has reportedly released any clear information, nor have they provided any updates about the case on their official website even after the recovery of her body.

Saskatoon Police recovered the body of Nandita Bhattacharya Munmun, a Bangladeshi woman, from the premises of the Heritage Inn Hotel and Convention Centre at Saskatoon in Saskatchewan province in Canada On 15 October 2024.

She was the wife of Anup Bhattacharya, the third son of Bholai Bhattacharya, a former commissioner of Purbasha Residential Area in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar district in Bangladesh. Munmun previously served as a senior officer at Prime Bank’s Sreemangal branch for long.

In June 2022, she immigrated to Saskatoon with her family for a better life in a free Country. Both she and her husband were employed there.

Anup Bhattacharya reported that his wife worked at the hotel. On the day of the incident, he dropped her off in the morning and returned around 4 p.m. to pick her up. After waiting till 5:30 p.m. and repeatedly calling her phone, a police officer brought Munmun’s cell phone and informed him that she had passed away.

However, no explanation was given as to how or when she fell from the rooftop of the hotel. There were no witnesses, no CCTV footage, and even her debit and credit cards were missing, Anup said and lamented over phone.

Footage shows Munmun entering the storeroom, but nothing afterward. No footage captured her going to the rooftop or falling down from it. The hotel is six a storied build.

According to Canadian or Western law, hotel rooftops are typically restricted areas.
The entire hotel is supposed to be covered by CCTV footage. The key to the rooftop is with the maintenance department.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, with no available CCTV footage showing her accessing the rooftop from which she reportedly fell. Additionally, questions have been raised about how she could have accessed the rooftop, as the key is typically held by the maintenance department.

It’s suspected that a deep and unsolved mystery may be lying behind Nandita’s death.
