On Teachers’ Day 2026, Needonomics School of Thought  greets the teaching fraternity in India and calls for serious introspection on the  role in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 amid emerging challenges.

A teacher’s true responsibility is not merely to deliver knowledge, but to convert the careless into careful, the incapable into capable, and the useless into useful and responsible citizens.

Teachers are celebrated as “assets” on Teachers’ Day, September 5, and National Education Day, November 11. But for the remaining 363 days, if society treats them without respect and dignity, the “t” in assets seems to disappear!

Needonomics calls for Competence Before Certificates, Values Before Volumes, and Teachers Before Trends. Let us restore the dignity of teaching and make education a mission of character, competence and nation-building for Viksit Bharat 2047.
