KRC TIMES: Basiz and the Tripura government signed a Memorandum of Understanding during a Destination Tripura summit. How did the idea of collaboration and participating in the summit occur to you?

Aditya Sesh: For a long time I have been of the opinion that we need to undertake a project in the Northeastern states of India. I happened to see an advertisement for the Tripura summit during a flight to Ahmedabad and decided that I had to be there. It was my belief that more opportunities should be available to the people in the North East as much as anywhere else and that they could be trained to handle everything that others could do. Then we initiated the idea of the memorandum of understanding with the Tripura government and the collaboration occurred as a result of the summit and Tripura’s Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the centre on 11th July. We are grateful for this opportunity and want to express our sincere gratitude to the Tripura government for its support and motivation in making this project a reality.

KRC TIMES: This is Tripura’s first fund administration operation centre, what will be its significance for the IT infrastructure of the state and subsequently the North East region?

Aditya Sesh: The first fund administration centre, which is a high end knowledge process outsourcing business, has already made its impact in terms of awareness of what are the requirements and the maintenance procedure for such high end analytics business. We were able to set up this centre in about 40 days, which would not have been possible without the extensive experience of those involved in this project. However, most of the infrastructure in terms of internet bandwidth, roads, and good quality buildings already existed in addition to qualified resources. You can already see office grade glass facade buildings there and more are coming up. The resources need to be trained and made aware that they are part of an international system and therefore have to combine their values and culture and blend it with international values and cultures so that both can co-exist while keeping clients happy.

KRC TIMES: The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) report stated that unemployment in Tripura increased to 17% in May-.August, highest among the North Eastern States, how will this initiative help in improving the employment situation in the state and what opportunities does it carry for North East India?

Aditya Sesh: By itself, this investment is a sentinel for what can happen ahead. I would believe that many IT/ITES organisations would take a leaf from our book and then come to Tripura in a big way because now there is an established case study. And we are also expanding within Tripura. The unemployment level in Tripura will also come down over a period of time as the benefits of infrastructure start to roll out and trickle down.

KRC TIMES: What is your timeframe for implementing the training and recruitment plan and according to you what measures and aid should the state governments provide to further promote such partnerships?

Aditya Sesh: Our training and rollout plan has already begun and in fact, the production is live now. We have employed twice more than the number originally committed in phase 1 and that represents our confidence in the centre. I believe the state government will continue to motivate and welcome many more private sector organisations within the state, however more importantly it is the private sector that also needs to take a serious look not just at Tripura but the entire North East and make firm plans.

KRC TIMES: What future plans do you have for expanding your investment and reach in North East India?

Aditya Sesh: Investment in the northeast is part of our future plan and will certainly be pivotal. We are also looking at the other northeast States as and when required and it is on our radar. In fact, Tripura may well be our hub for the North East rollout plan too. At the moment that choice is nebulous.
