Agartala: Tripura BJP president Abhishek Debroy on September 15 said the party would address organisational differences among its workers but warned that those involved in activities against the party’s interests could face disciplinary action.

Speaking to reporters at the state BJP headquarters, Debroy responded to reports of groupism and differences between party workers and mandal-level leadership. He said the party has an organisational mechanism to address such issues.

Debroy said organisational committees are reconstituted every three years and clarified that workers whose names are not included in newly formed committees should not be considered removed from the party.

He said such workers remain associated with the BJP in various capacities, while the formation of mandal-level committees follows the party’s organisational process under the supervision of the central leadership. “If there are any problems regarding the functioning of mandal committees, the party will look into them,” Debroy said.

At the same time, he warned that disciplinary action would be taken against workers found engaging in activities that go against the interests of the party.

BJP announces month-long programmes

Debroy also announced a series of programmes in Tripura to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday from September 17 to October 17.

The month-long programme will include drawing competitions, Namo Seva initiatives, activities involving Anganwadi centres, service-oriented programmes and a march carrying the “Seva Mashaal”, among other events. Debroy highlighted Modi’s political career, including his tenure as Gujarat chief minister before becoming prime minister, and said the programmes were intended to promote public participation in community-oriented activities.
