Hailakandi: Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), seized 109.2 kg of Yaba tablets worth approximately Rs.327 crore during a joint operation in Hailakandi district.

According to the security forces, the intelligence-based operation was conducted at Ramnathpur in Hailakandi between September 15 and 16.

During the operation, the team also apprehended one person in connection with the seizure. The seized Yaba tablets and the apprehended individual were subsequently handed over to DRI, Silchar, for further investigation and legal action.

The operation was part of ongoing efforts by security and intelligence agencies to prevent the smuggling of narcotic substances in the region.
