Silchar: A review meeting of the Barak Valley Development Department was held on Tuesday to assess the progress of major road and infrastructure projects across the three districts of the valley.

The meeting, attended by Development Minister Krishnendu Paul, reviewed key projects including the Silchar-Barapani Express Highway, Bharatmala and Asom Mala road projects, the Silchar flyover, the Birbal Bazar-Medical College road, Sribhumi Medical College and the new Silchar District Commissioner’s Office.

Officials and construction agencies were directed to resolve existing issues and speed up the works to ensure timely completion of the projects.

Several MLAs, including Bijoy Malakar, Rajdeep Goala, Amiya Kanti Das, Aminul Haque Laskar, Zuber Enam and Aminul Rashid Choudhury, attended the meeting. The Deputy Commissioners of Cachar, Sribhumi and Hailakandi, along with senior PWD, NHIDCL, Power and Forest Department officials, were also present.
