Silchar: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday unveiled its Silchar Municipal Area Development Sankalp Patra ahead of the upcoming Silchar Municipal Corporation election.

The programme was held at Banga Bhavan in Sadarghat, Silchar, with Assam Pradesh BJP president Dilip Saikia attending as the chief guest.

Several Assam government ministers, Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly were also present at the programme.

The Sankalp Patra outlined the party’s development commitments for the Silchar municipal area ahead of the civic polls. The programme was organised by the Cachar district unit of the BJP, led by district president Rupam Saha. He also anchored the ceremony.

Ministers Jayanta Mallabaruah, Krishnendu Paul, Kaushik Rai, Rajya Sabha MP Kanad Purkayastha, Silchar MP Parimal Suklabaidya, Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev, former MLA Rituparna Baruah, Kripanath Mallah, MLA Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MLA Rajdeep Goala, MLA Kishor Nath, MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, MLA Dr. Milon Das, MLA Bijoy Malakar, MLA Amiya Kanti Das, Moon Swarnakar, former MLAs Dipayan Chakraborty, Nihar Ranjan Das, Mihir Kanti Shome, Dilip Kumar Paul, veteran BJP leader Nitya Bhushan Dey, BJP leaders Bimalendu Roy, Uday Shankar Goswami and others were present.
