Cancer Awareness Programme Held at P C Borjalenga Higher Secondary School

School Principal Shampa Deb thanked Lions Club of Silchar Valley View for taking the initiative and organising the programme

Silchar: Lions Club of Silchar Valley View, in association with Silchar Cancer Centre (Tata), organised a cancer awareness programme at P C Borjalenga Higher Secondary School on Thursday.

The programme focused mainly on oral cancer and breast cancer. Lions Valley View Project Chairperson Babul Kumar introduced the programme. Dr Monojit Banik, an oral cancer specialist, conducted an informative awareness session for around 200 students, including boys and girls, along with teachers. He also held an interactive session and answered questions from the participants.

Speaking at the programme, Lions Club of Silchar Valley View President Sanjeev Roy urged students to stay away from tobacco and spread awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use among others.

School Principal Shampa Deb thanked Lions Club of Silchar Valley View for taking the initiative and organising the programme for the benefit and well-being of the younger generation. Ram Kumar Pashi (Yasi), Elizabeth Begum, Malsawndawngi Darlong, Raju Barbhuiya and others were also present at the programme.
