Guwahati: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam on Monday conducted a search operation at the residence of BJP MLA Ramakanta Deuri in Morigaon district in connection with the alleged recruitment scam in the Assam Fisheries Development Corporation.
The raid was carried out as part of the CID’s ongoing investigation into allegations of irregularities in appointments made within the Assam Fisheries Development Corporation. Officials are examining the recruitment process and the circumstances surrounding several appointments that have come under scrutiny.

Sources said the search operation was aimed at gathering documents and other evidence that could assist investigators in determining whether recruitment norms were violated during the appointment process.
The alleged scam pertains to claims of irregularities in the recruitment of personnel within the corporation, prompting a detailed probe by the CID. Investigators are reportedly looking into the role of individuals connected to the recruitment process and the manner in which appointments were made.
Officials have not yet released detailed findings from the search operation. The investigation remains ongoing, and further action is expected based on the evidence collected during the course of the probe.
