Barpeta: Barpeta Police seized drugs worth around Rs.2.44 crore during a special operation in Assam and arrested two persons in connection with the case.

According to police, a truck carrying a “special delivery” was intercepted in Barpeta district. During the search, officers recovered 671 grams of heroin and 22,000 YABA tablets hidden inside a secret cavity of the vehicle.

Police said the seized contraband was being transported illegally into the state. Further investigation is underway to trace the network linked to the smuggling operation.
