Silchar: Local leaders on Saturday visited the newly inaugurated Silchar Convention Centre, which was virtually inaugurated earlier by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The visit was made by MP Parimal Suklabaidya along with Dholai MLA Nihar Ranjan Das and BJP Cachar district president Rupam Saha.

During the visit, the leaders inspected the facilities of the convention centre and discussed its future use for various programmes and public events in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, they said the chief minister has remained firmly committed to the development of the Barak Valley. They added that the Silchar Convention Centre is expected to become an important venue for social, cultural and administrative activities in the valley in the coming years.

The leaders also expressed hope that the new facility will help strengthen community engagement and provide a modern space for large public gatherings and events in the region.
