Mental Health and Wellness Session Held for CRPF Personnel in Silchar

Silchar: A Mental Health and Wellness Session was organised for CRPF personnel at CIAT School Silchar, Udharbond, on Saturday in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).

Dr. Kaustav Sircar, Psychiatrist at SMCH, addressed more than 300 CRPF personnel on key issues related to mental health and well-being. His session covered stress management among troopers, chronic alcohol abuse and the management of Alcohol Dependence Syndrome (ADS) cases.

The interactive programme highlighted the importance of mental well-being, early identification of psychological concerns and timely professional support. The session also focused on building resilience and maintaining operational effectiveness among personnel.

Personnel from CIAT School Silchar, Group Centre Silchar and CH Silchar participated in the programme. Dr. Sircar was felicitated by Brigadier Bikram Singh, DIG, CIAT Silchar, in the presence of senior officers and medical officers.

The initiative reaffirmed the CRPF’s commitment to promoting mental wellness, strengthening resilience and ensuring a healthier and more effective force.
