Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, inaugurated the State Polytechnic Institute and Multi Utility Cum Indoor Badminton Stadium in the present of Y. Patton, Deputy Chief Minister & Home; Temjen Imna Along, Minister Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs; N Bongkhao Konyak Advisor, DUDA; N. Thongwang Konyak DPDB Chairman; Medo Yhokha Advisor to CM and Eshak Hessum, MLA 47th Aboi on 27th Novemberat Aboi Town.

A public inaugural function was held at the Local Ground where the Chief Minister said that the Academic programme of Polytechnic will commence from the session 2021-2022.

He said that Naga society is very young in civilization but in spite of all these priorities is being given to backward areas and he wants to see the test of the fruit of development by the people.

The Chief Minister also encouraged the people to plant and preserve our indigenous trees as they are perishing from our land. He also urged the officers to be more dedicated in their duties and also encouraged them to multi-task in whatever field they can contribute to the people.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton said Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is a champion of development, as for the first time in Nagaland Chief Minister and his cabinet colleague had five inaugural functions in a day, in Mon district.

Temjen Imna Along thanked the government departments and people of Aboi for their relentless effort which has made this State polytechnic institute and Multi Utility cum Indoor Stadium.

Manpon Konyak, Convener of Aboi District Demand Committee read out grievances faced by the people including health facilities condition in Aboi. Short speeches were delivered by Tongwang, ENSF president, KU Mon   

A brief history of the project of Multi Utility cum Indoor Badminton Stadium was given by N. Bongkhao Konyak Advisor, DUDA. He said the estimated cost of the Multi Utility Cum Indoor Stadium was Rs. 80.00 Lakhs. The project was started during 2015-16 funded by DUDA through Border Area Development Programme and Under Development Areas programme. The project was constructed by M/s Affluent Enterprises and successfully completed during 2017- 18.

The inaugural program was held in compliance with the SOP of COVID-19 issued by the Government of Nagaland. The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K, Rev. T. Wano Missionary at Large invoked God’s presence. KU Advisor (Aboi Unit) Maopong delivered the welcome address. There was also an exhibition match between Chief Minister & partner VS Badminton Club Aboi. Cultural Dance was displayed by Upper Range Women and KNSK, Aboi Town.
