Guwahati: Chief Electoral Officer of Assam, Anurag Goel, has made it clear that no political party or candidate will be allowed to hold victory processions after the election results are declared.
Speaking at a press conference held at Janata Bhawan, Goel said that winning parties will not be permitted to take out processions on public roads once the results are announced. The move aims to maintain law and order during the sensitive post-election period.
He also issued strict instructions to all candidates and political parties, urging them to ensure that any gatherings or celebrations remain peaceful and do not cause disruption or unrest.
The Election Commission of India has directed all stakeholders to follow these guidelines closely, stressing the need to maintain peace and stability after the completion of the electoral process.
