Deputy Director, Dima Hasao Tourism, Nirmendu Kemprai briefed the media I a press meet held at Haflong on Friday stating that the official social media Face book page of Dima Hasao Tourism was recently breached shocking its followers and officials.
Although, the administrators of Dima Hasao Tourism FB account tried every possible way to get control of Facebook Page “Dima Hasao Tourism” but failed to stop the objectionable contents posted on the official page.
Requesting the people to follow the newly created page, Dima Hasao Tourism Official, Nirmendu Kemprai said the earlier created page should immediately be unfollowed. Hacking of user accounts and pages on social media has become a nuisance recently affecting high profile, politicians, official page etc. In this regard, an immediate action against such explicit activities, the department under the guidance of the council promptly lodged a complaint to Support team Face book and also informed the Cyber Cell at Haflong Police Station.
However the department through this medium has requested all its followers of Face book Page” Dima Hasao Tourism” not to follow the old page and start following the new page one viz. “Dima Hasao Tourism Official” bearing https: // www.facebook. com /dimahasaotourismofficial? mibextid =ZbWKwL for all the updates.
The Department of Tourism, Dima Hasao under the administrative control of N.C. Hills Autonomous Council has been operating an official Face book Page” Dima Hasao Tourism” bearing Page Id: 574914052689140 & URL – https: // www.facebook. com /TourismDimaHasao? Mibextid =ZbWKwL for promotion of Tourism since 2016. This Face book Page has about 11,000 followers at present.
Mention may be made that the face book users and officials were stunned to see such strange activities. An official statement was also issued earlier stating that the page was at an inaccessible positing and was compromised.
