GUWAHATI: A police officer was allegedly assaulted by an accused inside Dispur Police Station in Guwahati on September 26, according to an initial report.

The officer reportedly sustained a head injury in the incident and required nine stitches.

The incident took place within the premises of the police station while the accused was reportedly in police custody. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the alleged assault and the action taken by police are awaited.
