Silchar: Silchar Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das Smriti Rakkha Samiti and Rotary Club of Greenland Silchar, organized a commemorative event on Wednesday to mark the 155th birth anniversary of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das.

Leaders, citizens, and members of various organizations gathered to pay floral tributes to the great nationalist leader, recalling his remarkable contributions to India’s freedom struggle and his lifelong commitment to justice and social reform.

Speakers at the event described Deshbandhu as a visionary whose ideals of selfless service, unity, and national pride continue to inspire generations. The ceremony reflected deep respect and gratitude for one of India’s most influential figures in the independence movement.
