Guwahati: Panbazar Police have detained two individuals in connection with the alleged assault of a young woman following a minor road mishap in Fancy Bazar.

The accused have been identified as Kriti Gupta and Pratik Kumar Gupta. Police said both were picked up a day after the incident based on a complaint filed by the victim.

According to officials, the survivor is a student of Dispur Law College, who alleged that she was attacked in public view after a minor collision between the vehicle she was travelling in and a scooter on Friday.

The incident reportedly took place in the busy commercial area of Fancy Bazar, where what began as a negligible road accident soon escalated into a confrontation. The situation allegedly turned violent, leading to the assault of the student.

Police sources confirmed that an investigation is underway, and further legal action will follow based on the findings of the probe.
