31st National Children’s Science Congress meet held at Haflong

The 31st National Children’s Science Congress witnessed an outstanding District Level Meet at the Government Boys’ High School in Haflong on October 8, 2023. This event brought together young minds from across the district, showcasing their innovative ideas and scientific acumen.

The District Level Meet of the National Children’s Science Congress serves as a platform for students to explore and express their scientific creativity. The event was graced by the presence of children who displayed immense enthusiasm and passion for science.

Distinguished evaluators played a crucial role in assessing the projects and ideas presented by the young participants. Dr. Sankar Gogoi, Scientist (Plant Protection) from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Haflong, and a team of experts including Dr. Ponchami Gogoi, Dr. Sanchayita Rajkhowa, and  Kazi Kawsar Ahmed from the Department of Chemistry, Haflong Government College, as well as Miss Rini Kemprai from the Department of Zoology, Haflong Government College, and  Sudip Gorlosa, Junior Engineer from BSNL, Haflong, provided valuable insights and feedback.

Joshringdao Phonglo, President of the District Organizing Committee for the National Children’s Science Congress in Dima Hasao, warmly welcomed all the participants and attendees. He inspired the students to continue their pursuit of scientific knowledge and encouraged them to participate actively. The District Organizing Committee for this event was formed through the collaboration of two prominent non-governmental organizations, Blue Hills Society and Dawn of Tomorrow Society, in partnership with the Department of Education, Dima Hasao.

Their joint efforts in organizing this event reflect the commitment of the community towards nurturing young talents in the field of science. The District Level Meet of the National Children’s Science Congress at Haflong was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication of the organizing committee, the support of local NGOs, and the boundless curiosity and creativity of the participating students. This event reaffirmed the importance of fostering a scientific spirit among our youth and the promise of a brighter future through science.
