Imphal Ramakrishna Mission distributes relief material worth sixty lakhs in Manipur

Imphal Ramakrishna Mission conveys its deepest sympathies for those afflicted by recent civic disturbances in several parts of Manipur. In the media statement released by Secretary Swami Devapriyananda, stated that the efforts of local clubs & others in setting up the shelter camps to comfort the aggrieved are highly commended & appreciated. The Ramakrishna Mission stands in solidarity with the people of Manipur in these hard times and has been trying its best to reach out to the afflicted & needy for the past two months.

On July 9 a team from Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal, visited 4 relief camps under Wangoi Sub-Division of Imphal West, namely, Iram Sipahi, Samurou, Pemton Kamakhya & Mekola, and distributed dry ration, toiletries, blankets, bedsheets, stationeries, etc. for the inmates of these camps. Similarly, on July 6 also, the camps at Sugnu, Kakching Khunou & Kakching areas were provided with relief materials.

Since the 10th of May, 2023we have been relentlessly extending our relief services and have reached out to over 110 Relief Camps across 5 districts, namely, Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, and Kakching, till the 10th of July, informed the Secretary.

Dry ration items (consisting of Masoor Dal, Kantak, Mangan, Sagol Hawai, Soya Nuggets, Ngari, Salt, Sugar, Tea Powder, Milk Powder, Edible Oil, Baby Food, Infant Milk, Mothers’ Horlicks, Biscuits, etc.), Hygiene Kits (consisting of Bathing Soap, Washing Powder, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Hair Oil, Comb, Shampoo, Baby Diapers, Sanitary Pads, etc.), Steel Plates & Glasses, Spoons, Phanek, Phee, Phadi, Bath Towels, Mats, Blankets, Bed Sheets, Mosquito Curtains, Stationery items, etc., worth over Rs. 60 Lakhs have been distributed, till date, benefitting more than 16000 affected people, the Secretary informed.

The press note also stated that ‘We would like to impress that the Ramakrishna Mission is a Non-Political, Non-Sectarian, Spiritual Organisation that offers its services, irrespective of caste, creed, race, or religion of beneficiaries, in a spirit of worship to ‘Living Gods’ as per the dictum of Swami Vivekananda, ‘Service to Man is Service to God’.

The Secretary echoed through the statement released to the media, ‘We pray to almighty God that peace & harmony may prevail amongst us all’.
