Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday called on Governor Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan and briefed him on the prevailing flood situation across the state, including the extensive damage caused by recent flash floods and landslides.

During the meeting, Khandu apprised the Governor of the impact of the heavy monsoon rains, which have affected several districts, damaging homes, farmland, roads, and other critical infrastructure. He also outlined the relief and rehabilitation measures being undertaken by the state administration.

The Chief Minister informed the Governor about the ongoing rescue operations, distribution of essential relief materials to affected families, and efforts to restore road connectivity in flood-hit areas. He said the government is closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary steps to ensure timely assistance reaches those in need.

Expressing concern over the hardships faced by flood-affected families, Governor Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik appreciated the state government’s response to the crisis and urged officials to ensure that relief and assistance reach even the remotest villages without delay.

Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed widespread destruction over the past week following incessant monsoon rains, with several districts reporting significant losses to property, agriculture, and public infrastructure.
