Guwahati: The All India Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections 2026, fielding several new faces across key constituencies.
Among the names, Sherman Ali Ahmed has been nominated from Mandia in Barpeta district. The party has also fielded Rojy Ahmed, also known as Funu Das, from Hajo-Sualkuchi (SC), Avijit Mazumdar from Guwahati Central, Inus Kumar Kandapan from Chabua-Lahowal, and Paresh Borah from Mariani.
In the Barak Valley region, Parimal Ranjan Roy has been named as the candidate from Karimganj North, while Aziz Ahmed Khan, popularly known as Ranu Khan, will contest from Karimganj South.
In a related development, the party announced a revision to its earlier list, withdrawing the candidature of Dulu Ahmed from the Chamaria constituency.
Expressing confidence in its candidates, the party extended best wishes to all nominees and said it remains hopeful about their performance in the upcoming electoral battle in Assam.
